UWI to honour four Caribbean nationals

Four distinguished Caribbean nationals, including Barbadian attorney-at-law Sir Trevor Carmichael, Senator and medical doctor Carol Lady Haynes and veteran journalist Tony Best, are to be conferred with Honorary Degrees by the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill. An Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science will also be conferred on Dr Carissa Etienne, Director, PAHO during the ceremonies for the presentation of graduates on Saturday, October 15, 2016.

This year’s annual graduation ceremonies of the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, will revert to the campus grounds for the first time since 1995 when they were switched to the Garfield Sobers Gymnasium.

The relocation is due to ongoing repair work at the gymnasium.
