Matthew forces CAL flight cancellations

Caribbean Airlines today announced the cancellations of a number of flights scheduled for the next two days, due to the passage of Hurricane Matthew.

The latest advisory from the Miami-based National Hurricane Center indicated that the center of the storm is expected to approach Jamaica and southwestern Haiti on Monday.

According to a statement from the airline, the cancelled flights are as follows:

  • BW414 departing Norman Manley International, Kingston Jamaica to Nassau, Bahamas
  • BW415 departing Nassau Bahamas to Norman Manley International, Kingston Jamaica
  • BW036 departing Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica.
  • BW011 departing Montego Bay, Jamaica to John F Kennedy International, New York
  • BW079 departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica to Lester Pearson International, Toronto, Canada
  • BW017 departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica to John F Kennedy International, New York

Hurricane Matthew has forced the cancellation of several Caribbean Airlines flights.

Earlier departure times for flights operating on Sunday:

  • BW 414 from Piarco, Trinidad to Kingston, Jamaica will depart Piarco at 7:50 a.m. (local time)
  • BW 415, from Kingston, Jamaica to Piarco, Trinidad will now depart Jamaica at 11:00 a.m. (local time)

Cancelled flights for Monday October 3

  • BW016 departing John F. Kennedy International, New York to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica
  • BW458 departing Piarco International, Trinidad via Antigua, to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica
  • BW459 departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica via Antigua, to Piarco International, Trinidad
  • BW031 departing Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida
  • BW030 departing Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida to Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • BW039 departing Montego Bay, Jamaica to Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood International, Florida
  • BW010 departing John F. Kennedy International, New York to Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • BW078 departing Lester Pearson International, Toronto, Canada to Norman Manley International, Kingston, Jamaica
