Different fates for two on assault charges

courtTwo St Michael men appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court Friday charged with separate assault offences.

They are: Dwayne Ryan Omar Forde, 35, of Rock Hampton Road, Grazettes and Dario Enrico Haynes, 25, of Alleyne’s Lane, Passage Road.

Appearing before Magistrate Douglas Frederick, Forde pleaded not guilty to assaulting Lasonta Nurse on September 29 and occasioning her actual bodily harm.

He also denied charges that he damaged a chain belonging to the complainant.

Forde was granted bail in the sum of $3 000 with one surety, on the condition that he stay away from the woman.

He will reappear in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Court on January 12, 2017.

Meanwhile, the case against Haynes was dismissed after the complainant, Cyndney Bourne, told the court she was no longer interested in pursuing the matter.

Haynes, who was represented by attorney-at-law Andrew Pilgrim QC, had been accused of assaulting Bourne on September 24 and occasioning her actual bodily harm.
