Not fit for bail

Jakeel Stephenson Gittens, past actions caught up with him today.

The 23-year-old, of no fixed placed of abode, is accused of unlawful possession of an apparatus intended for the misuse of cocaine.

Gittens pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.

However, police prosecutor Sergeant Neville Watson told the court the accused man was not a fit candidate for bail, as he had escaped custody from the No. 2 District ‘A’ Criminal Court and a warrant had been issued for his arrest since 2015.

This argument did not sit well with Gittens who responded saying “that got me pissed right now cause I done two years on that charge”.

He was remanded into custody at HMP Dodds until October 27.
