Forde released on $3,000 bail

Raheim Colin Forde was released on $3,000 bail after appearing in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Forde, 23, of 10th Avenue, New Orleans, St Michael, is charged with unlawfully assaulting Paul Stuart on September 16.

There were no objections to bail by the police prosecutor after Forde pleaded not guilty to the offence before Magistrate Douglas Frederick.

He re-appears in court on January 12, 2017.

Why is bail so light? It seem as though if you commit any offense these days Judges offer bail that you can come up with in most cases. This seem to be a cop out . As some of these cases are treated as share jokes. If some one assault another and is treated with kids gloves it encourages not deters. Some form of deterrent should enforced . There is no wonder we have so many re offenders while out on bail, waiting for their cases to come before the Court. It is a joke.
