No deportation of James

Convicted murderer Arleigh Hector James, who was released from prison early July after two decades after killing his wife and stepdaughter, is still resident in Barbados, despite recent reports that he would be deported to St Vincent where he was born.

This afternoon when Barbados TODAY visited the Christ Church home where James has been staying with family members since his release over two months ago, the former prisoner, who beheaded his 35-year-old wife Debra James and slashed his 14-year-old stepdaughter Sabrina Arlington to death back on May 1, 1994, said he was not prepared to speak.

“I do not want to talk to anybody right now,” he said, in a terse comment.

However, his son Ashley King had earlier made an appeal through Barbados TODAY for his father not to be sent back to St Vincent where he said his father’s life would be in danger

I see no reason for deporting him, especially since we Bajans are always complaining about the USA deporting people to Barbados now we are trying to do the same to a fellow West Indian.

That’s exactly why we should deport him, because other countries are doing it. Stop trying to be “fair” and accept what happens.

Hopefully, the authorities are not waiting to find out if this one will re-offend

I wonder how the folk of Christ Church living in the convicted murder’s neighborhood feel knowing they have a man that savagely killed his wife and Stepdaughter among them .
I could only imagine having children living around him and having to tell them ,this is the man that killed his wife and a little girl ,so be very careful.
First thing i would like to understand is why are all these convicted killers being released. There are quite a few that have been released recently. Another in St. John that decapitated another young man’s head some years earlier .He too was released at the beginning of the year. These savages should never, ever have seen the outside of the prison walls for the remainder of their lives. But, there are those bleeding souls who think that they deserve another chance. What chance <.to see if they will re offend ?What chance have those that were murdered ever going to get?
