St Andrew man faces multiple charges

Kevin Don Pedro Chandler, 25, of Chalky Mount, St Andrew is set to appear before the District “D” Magistrate court tomorrow on a string of charges.

Police have charged Chandler with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of cannabis, no driver’s licence, and no third party insurance.

Chandler was arrested last Friday when police were conducting routine vehicle checks in the area of Proute, St Thomas.

Police discovered that Chandler was not the holder of a Driver’s Licence, and that the vehicle was not covered by third party insurance.

Lawmen also discovered the firearm, ammunition and cannabis during a search of the vehicle.

If he’s found in possession of a unlicensed gun..and ammo .
No driver’s licence / insurance …..isn’t it amazing open and shut case…….in the UK….he would get 7 years for the gun …plus additional 1 year for each bullet in the chamber..!
No doubt his legal team…will say the gun ain’t his / he didn’t know it was there…..etc etc …the usually stuff these lawyers will normally defend these…..” Scumbags” with..!
There is a massive gun crime problem in Barbados now..
The world is watching …….the government is impotent….
The judiciary system is s joke….!
There’s no deterent . Every time I pick up a Bajan paper in London…there’s a shooting.. your mess with your tourist industry…….the country will be finished …it’s that simple.
People will be scared to visit….take heed …Mr prime minister..

I guess he’ll be walking through Bellplain St. Andrew next week like he owns it, feeling empowered, big, and bad, because by then he’ll be out on bail.
His case will come up a year or two from now and a suspended sentence would be the norm .And guess what, some incompetent Judge will come up with the idea that he has been a good citizen since then and therefore should be given a small fine.
