Breaking ground

Plans for the erection of a National Monument at the Garrison Savannah have got underway.

Workers have broken ground on the inner field of the savannah where the structure will be built.

It is expected to highlight significant aspects of Barbados’ history since the attainment of Independence on November 30, 1966. The monument will also house the commemorative Broken Trident currently making the rounds across the country.
