Revs, roars and rain at Bushy Park

The action at Bushy Park, St Philip on Sunday was fast and furious . . . with some showers that really didn’t dampen proceedings.

At the end of the action Barbados’ Barry Mayers had topped Group 4 in a speedy Suzuki SX4 to emerge champion of the Barbados section of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC).

One of Mayers’ special moments was delivering the fastest lap time of the day of one minute, 2.971 seconds.

There were other excellent performances from the likes of Mark Maloney, Ryan Wood, David Simpson, Sean Maloney, Paul Vieira, Shawn Boxhill and Trinidad and Tobago’s Nicholas Gonsalves who shone in the superbike category.

Wood took the chequered flag in all three Swift Cup races, though he was disqualified from the third for taking the Joker Lap twice, handing victory to Jason Parkinson.
