Haynes admits todrug problem
After considering the 14 months Jamar Omar Haynes already spent on remand, Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick sentenced the convicted man to three months on each of the crimes he confessed to committing.
Haynes, formerly of Yearwood Road, Sugar Hill, St Joseph but who now has no fixed address, changed his plea Tuesday.
He confessed to robbing Kenneth Duncan of a cellular phone and $20 last July, as well as robbing Tyrone Rolston of a phone, wallet and an identification card on July 26 that same year.
Haynes also pleaded guilty to having apparatus that same day, which police found on him during their investigations.
“I have a drug problem and I’m asking for help this morning, Sir,” he told Frederick.
Haynes will serve the sentences consecutively.
