Curfew for teen charged with assault
Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick this afternoon placed a 16-year-old boy on a 13-hour curfew.
The measure was imposed after Daran Amir Hinds of Block 19E, Down Hill Drive, Eden Lodge, St Michael appeared in the District “A” Magistrates Court on an assault charge.
Hinds is accused of wounding Dale Hooper with intent to maim, disfigure or disable him or to do some serious bodily harm to him.
Hinds was not required to plead to the indictable offence, which allegedly occurred on August 28.
Apart from the 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. curfew, Hinds was also warned by the Acting Chief Magistrate to stay away from Hooper.
There were no objections to bail by Prosecutor Sergeant Martin Rock and Hinds was granted $3,000 bail with one surety.
He returns to the No 1 District “A” Court on November 24.
