Lestrade to answer to six charges
A 29-year-old man appeared before the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court Friday to answer to six charges.
Jeremiah Clement Lestrade was not required to plead to any of the August 25 offences which Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick read to him.
The Halls Road, St Michael resident is accused of two counts of having cannabis, intent to supply, trafficking, cultivation, and possession of two articles of camouflage clothing.
Among the objections raised by Prosecutor Sergeant Martin Rock were that Lestrade had antecedents of a similar nature, the offences were serious and society needed to be protected from the scourge of drugs.
Frederick remanded Lestrade to HMP Dodds and transferred some matters to the District ‘C’ Magistrates Court where the accused will appear on August 30.
Lestrade will return before Frederick on September 23 to have the matters which relate to that jurisdiction heard.
