ZR driver granted bail

A ZR driver was yesterday granted $1,500 bail when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick for several traffic violations.

The list included unlawfully driving a motor vehicle on Church Hill Road without reasonable consideration for other persons using the road; unlawfully driving on the same road without due care and attention; as well as being under the influence of alcohol or drugs to such an extent as to be incapable of having proper control of ZR-16. All the incidents allegedly occurred on August 24.

Stephen Oneal Pile, 48 of Evergreen Road, Church Hill, Christ Church was not required to plead to the charges.

Prosecutor Sergeant Martin Rock had no objections to bail.

The case was adjourned to September 8, when he will go before the District “B” Magistrates Court.

Under the influence of alcohol while transporting passenger. $1500 and he’s free to do it again. The laws of Barbados are laughable.
