Four advance to talent semis

The second preliminary of the 40th annual Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition came off last Sunday night at the Divi Southwinds hotel.

Again, some of the best local talent was on display and the audience was treated to a night of sweet music.

The competitors tackled popular tracks from many genres including pop and R&B.

At the end of the night, Tahirah Gibbons, Danielle St Hill, Javin Johnson and Maaisa Clarke were the ones that shone brightest and will advance to the semifinal round.

They impressed the judges with their clean clear vocals and the passion for the task at hand was evident among the four.

They will also perform at this Sunday’s third preliminary at the same location.

The contestants in the third preliminary round are: Rihanna Peterkin, Kenya Joseph, Fazina Bassalat, Selwyn Sivers, Britney Bynoe, Rashida Codrington, Weslon Samuels, Leonard Layne Mayers and in the over 21 segment Richelle Johnson.

Separate prizes for the best-dressed lady and best audience singer are again in full effect.
