Bellamy remanded on cocaine and cannabis charges

A Spencer Gap, Baxters Road, St Michael resident has been charged with cocaine possession, trafficking and intent to supply the substance on August 13, along with a final charge of possession of cannabis on the same date.

Charles Foltone Bellamy, an unemployed 52-year-old, denied all four drug charges when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today.

Station Sergeant Janice Ifill opposed bail, arguing that the court ought to consider his ten previous convictions, eight of which were for similar offences, which meant he was likely to reoffend.

Ifill also informed the court that Bellamy was already on bail from the same court.

Bellamy responded that he had only one charge before the court which is four years old and “dah case ain’t even get start Mam. Since dah I ain’t do nutten wrong”.

Bellamy was remanded to prison until September 12.
