James through to men’s 400m finals

Grenadians Kirani James and Bralon Taplin, and Trinidad’s Machel Cedenio are through to the final of the men’s 400m.

James, the reigning Olympic champion, qualified in 44.02 seconds.  He was followed by LaShawn Merritt of the United States in 44.21, while Cedenio came third in 44.39 seconds.

Taplin placed fourth in 44.44 seconds.

Other finalists are Wade Van Niekerk of South Africa, Karabo Sibanda of Botswana, Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith and Ali Khamis of Bahrain.
