Atkins denies assault charge

COURT TODAY BLOCKKadeem Zaviad Atkins has been ordered to “stay as far away as possible” from the complainant in a matter in which he is accused of assaulting the woman.

When Atkins, an unemployed 24-year-old, went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, he denied assaulting Janelle Browne last December 19 and causing her actual bodily harm.

There was no objection to bail but Sergeant Neville Reid asked the court to impose a reporting condition on the accused, who now has to report to a police station every Monday before noon.

He was granted $5,000 bail until he returns to court on October 26.
