St Michael man admits to cocaine possession

courtA 32-year-old St Michael man was slapped with a $2,000 fine after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

Che Valon Cosmus Modoo, 32, of Welches, St Michael admitted to possession, possession with intent to supply, and trafficking of the illegal drug, which was found on his person.

The No 2 Magistrates Court heard that on August 10, police where in Bridgetown carrying out an exercise when they approached Madoo on Broad Street.

He began to fidget with his right pants pocket and appeared nervous to the officers.

While speaking with him, a search was requested to which he agreed.

The cocaine was found in three small plastic bags in his pocket.

He admitted to police that it was cocaine and said it was for his personal use.

He now has two months to pay the fine imposed by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant or six months imprisonment.

Modoo returns to court to show his receipt on October 14.
