Pot charges

courtKevin Anderson Bowen was remanded to HMP Dodds until September 8 after he appeared in the District “A” Magistrates Court on several drug charges.

Bowen, 35, of Hunt Road, Carrington Village, St Michael is charged with possession, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation of seven kilogrammes of cannabis, with an estimated street value of $30, 800.

The marijuana was found in a  barrel at the port, which Bowen went to clear on August 10.

Bowen had first pleaded guilty when the four charges where read by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant. He however changed his plea to not guilty after the police prosecutor presented the case.

He returns on September 8, for sentencing.
