Ahmal Phillips changes plea, admits to theft
He denied the charge on a previous occasion but Tuesday, Ahmal Lamar Phillips admitted to stealing several pieces of equipment from Luther Greenidge between February 27 and 28, 2014.
The items, which were worth $2,943. 50, included phase testers, a drilling machine, saw, jack and several other tools.
Police later recovered $532 worth, which Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant of the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court took into consideration before sentencing.
Phillips was therefore ordered to pay $2,411. 50 in compensation by October 28, as well as $150 in court costs by the time he returns to court on that date with proof of payment.
