Repeat offender jailed for failing to pay fine

courtA prison cell at HMP Dodds will be home for the next four months for a man listed on the police charge sheet as having no fixed place of abode.

Simeon Levi Graham was today jailed for failing to pay a court imposed fine.

The $750 fine was slapped on Graham by Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant back in March when he appeared on a robbery charge.

The sentence was handed down Friday on the 28-year-old when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Douglas Frederick on another robbery charge.

Graham is accused of entering the Pine Dispensary on August 1 and stealing one cash register and $2,000 in currency.

He is also accused of having a weapon – a box cutter – at the time of the incident.

Meantime the accused man pleaded guilty to the unlawful possession of apparatus “for the intended use  . . . in connection with the misuse of  . . . cocaine.

He is scheduled to reappear in court on September 2 for sentencing.

    Take him in shackles to clean the weeds in Westbury cemetary in the boiling hot sun for 2 months.

    People become repeat offenders when they are released from prison, no welfare assistance, no jobs, no money, homeless, targeted by law enforcement and avoided by relatives and friends.
    The system is flawed. It creates the majority of repeat offenders.,
