Youth remanded on theft charges

COURT TODAY BLOCKA 22-year-old Christ Church man, already facing an indecent assault charge, will spend the remainder of the month on remand at HMP Dodds awaiting his day in court on theft charges.

Sean Lenny Randy Matthias was denied bail when he appeared before Acting Magistrate Alliston Seale in the Oistins Magistrates Courts yesterday, charged with breaking into Cedric Weatherhead’s home and stealing a compressor and a generator, valued at $1,000.

Matthias, of Forde’s Road, Silver Hill, Christ Church, also faces a charge of indecently assaulting an 18-year-old girl on February 3 this year.

Station Sergeant Rudolph Burnett told the court that not only were the allegations serious but Matthias was already on bail from the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court on a charge of aggravated burglary.

Acting Magistrate Seale remanded the accused until August 31.
