Man denies threatening shopkeeper

COURT TODAY BLOCKA 55-year-old man has denied using threatening words towards a shopkeeper on Monday.

Irvine Ricardo Rohan Sands of 1st Avenue Holders Land, Brandons, St Michael went before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court Wednesday afternoon.

He is accused of using threatening or abusive words to Pansy Sawh on July 25, those being, “you is a whore. You want killing”, within her hearing and which were likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

Although Sergeant Robert Jones did not object to bail, he asked the court to restrict Sands from having any further contact with the complainant.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence, was granted $1, 500 bail and the case adjourned until September 27.
