Four injured in three-vehicle smash-up

The passengers in a three-vehicle smash-up this morning escaped serious injuries, with police reporting that one had no complaints at all.

Traffic ground to a halt as a result of the accident on Lancaster Road, St James, near Westmoreland Road.

Police said the accident, which occurred around 7:30, involved vehicles driven by 32-year-old Sabrina Lewis of Rock Dundo, St James; Reco Barrow, 27, of Date Tree Hill, St Peter and 39-year-old Franklyn Bowen of Crabs Hill, St Lucy.

Public Relations Officer Acting Assistant Superintendent of Police David Welch told Barbados TODAY that Lewis complained of pains to the right knee and chest, while her passenger, a four-year-old girl, sustained a cut to her bottom lip.

Barrow complained of pain to the left shoulder, while his 29-year-old female passenger complained of pains to the left shoulder and head.

Bowen, meanwhile, had no complaints, Welch said.

All the injured sought medical attention.
