Shopkeeper on bail for drugs

courtA 34-year-old shopkeeper pleaded not guilty to several drug charges when he appeared in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court Friday.

Kamal Tito Jermaine Hollingsworth, of 2nd Avenue Harts Gap, Christ Church, appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick charged with the offences, which were allegedly committed yesterday.

Hollingsworth, who stood in the prisoners’ box on crutches, is charged with unlawful possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, possession of a trafficable quantity of cannabis, and having an apparatus for “intended use in connection with misuse of cannabis”.

The accused is also charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply and possession of a trafficable quantity on cocaine.

The cocaine weighed 26 grammes and the cannabis 31 grammes. The two illegal substances had a total street value of $285.

With no objections, Hollingsworth was granted $3,000 bail with one surety. He returns to court on October 3.
