Maughan answers for his ‘Bible’

City resident Peter Lee Maughan will be residing at HMP Dodds for the next six months.

That sentence was handed down by a Bridgetown magistrate this afternoon after the 53-year-old man pleaded guilty to having apparatus fit for use in connection with cocaine.

The facts revealed that the Wellington Street resident was being questioned by police in relation to another matter. While he was at the station, Maughan was searched and a bottle with the bottom missing and mesh wire at the top was found in his pants pocket.

When police asked the repeat offender about ownership of it, Maughan replied: “That is my pipe; that is my Bible.”
