Man fights girlfriend’s sister

Jason DaCosta Mayers assaulted a woman three years ago. Today, when the matter concluded before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, he was ordered to forfeit $740.

Mayers, who resides at the corner of Ellerslie School Road, St Stephens Hill, St Michael, was found guilty on an earlier occasion. He returned before the District ‘A’ Magistrate’s Court today for sentencing.

After the complainant told the court that she suffered soft tissue injuries to her face and hands, Magistrate Cuffy-Sargeant ordered the labourer to reimburse Elan Watson $250 for doctor fees incurred, $300 compensation, $40 for medication and $150 in court costs.

The 25-year-old man and the complainant fought at her mother’s home, after she went there to collect some items from the house. Mayers was her sister’s partner at the time.
