Deacons resident remanded on firearm charges

A young man who was detained by police over the weekend at Deacons Court, St Michael, was today remanded to HMP Dodds for the next month.

Adigun Rabbi Hinds, 25, of Block 5A Madison Terrace, Deacons Farm, was arrested on June 19, following a police operation in the area.

When he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District “A” Magistrate’s Court today, he was not required to plead to charges of possession of a firearm and possession of seven rounds of ammunition without a valid licence or permit.

He will reappear in court on July 21.

    Mr. Rabbi, according to the Slickers more than 40 years ago, “Walking down the community with a firearm in yuh hand/ Adigun, yuh too bad”.
