Accused robber injured in jail
After spending a little over a year on remand at HMP Dodds, Khalil Lavaar Hurley was granted temporary relief today.
Appearing before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court No 2, Hurley was granted $5, 000 bail with one surety.
The Scotts Gap, Brittons Hill, St Michael man, who was wheelchair-bound today, was charged back on May 25, 2015 with two counts of robbery.
He had been on remand since then.
Explaining his need to use a wheelchair, Hurley said he had injured himself while exercising in prison.
July 13, 2016 was set as his next court date.
