Midnight fire razes house

Fire officials were rushed into action shortly before midnight Monday night as a building at Kingsland Terrace, Christ Church burst into flames.

When they got there they found a building that had been razed, while the raging flames caused slight damage to an adjacent home and sewerage pipes, Station Officer Gordon Boxill told Barbados TODAY.

Boxill quoted residents as saying the destroyed structure was unoccupied and derelict and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Two water tenders and eight fire officers under Boxill’s command responded to the blaze.
