$5,000 bail for alleged rapist

COURT TODAY BLOCKAn alleged rapist, who owned up to drug possession, was yesterday released on $5,000 bail for the lesser charge.

Ryan Gill of Haynes Hill, Mapp Hill, St Michael returns to court on June 23 for possible sentencing for drugs.

Gill also faces a much more serious charge of rape.

However, he was not required to enter a plea to the sexual offence, which was allegedly committed on 6 January, 2014, when he appeared before Magistrate Douglas Frederick in the District ‘A’ Court yesterday

Instead, the magistrate set November 10 as the date for hearing of the rape charge.
