Jessamy on laundering, drug charges

todays courtAn unemployed man went before a Bridgetown court earlier today on seven charges.

Kimar Hasif Jessamy, 31, of #15 Husbands New Development, St Michael, could not plead to the offence of laundering$36,892. 41 which was the proceeds of crime.

Jessamy, however, denied the other six offences which related to him being in possession of, intending to supply and trafficking a quantity of marijuana and cocaine.

The offences were allegedly committed on May 24.

Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant, presiding in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, placed the accused on $50,000 bail with two sureties and ordered that his travel documents be held.

Jessamy, who returns to court on August 8, has to report to a police station once a week.

He was represented by attorney-at-law Damien Sands.

    My take on setting bail, 10% of the bail should be set in cash, if they are guilty they lose that cash which will help pay for they criminal act…
