Another Billboard win for Rihanna

Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley has congratulated Barbadian songstress Rihanna on her latest international win.

Last night Rihanna copped the Billboard Achievement Award at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.

In a statement released today, Lashley said it was important to commend the 28-year-old singer, who continues to a make a significant impression on the world stage.

He said Barbados was “eternally grateful” to Rihanna for helping to promote the island through her music videos.

Rihanna’s win was for her popular song Work. On the night she also delivered a flawless performance of Love on the Brain, as she sang her heart out to her fans who voted to ensure that she walked away with the coveted Billboard Achievement Award.

To date the Barbadian singer has received over ten Billboard awards, including Top Streaming Artist, Top Radio Song and Top 100 Artist.
