‘We need healing’ – Mia

Hundreds of Barbadians today answered the Opposition Barbados Labour Party’s call to march for justice.

BLP leader Mia Mottley led today’s “white” march from Parliament Building to Browne’s Beach, just a stone’s throw from the Office of The Prime Minister, where the regular Cabinet meeting was in session.

While calling for healing in the nation,  Mottley decried Government’s handing of the country. She zeroed in on recent lay offs in the public sector as well as the proposed restoration of a ten cent pay cut to Parliamentarians, calling on Barbadians to respond with their conscience no matter who is in power.

Seriously! !Hundreds and you call that people taking the BLP to heart.
If at this time the BLP cannot get thousands and thousands to come on the street it shows that people don’t see them as a serious entity.

All BLP supporters and creating a false impression that people come out to march. People don’t be fooled, the BLP can not create a better Barbados. All of us have to join hands if Barbados economic issues are to be resolved .

“The longest march begins with the first step.” Bajan are far too passive to show their hands so early, but listen to what they are saying in the privacy if their own homes; at family functions and business gatherings. The Dems gone through the eddoes. Just wait. Time will tell.

So what, the BEES don’t go through the eddoes too? You people does really take the political crap too serious. No darn government will rule forever. There are times the BEES will rule and there are times when the DEES will rule and regardless of who ruling we got to live until we dead. That’s the way I see it because personally I don’t care for neither one of the parties.

People are genuinely hurting and it seems they also see Mia Motley and her march as self-serving and of no help to them. They may very well vote out the DLP in the next election but don’t seem interested in giving any support to Mia. The last election results; to my mind, suggested an electorate that didn’t care much for either party. Neither Freundel or Mia has a positive enough national appeal to turn the vote in the next election into a political party referendum; like the one in 2012 the next election will be very much 30 by-elections held on the same day.

  11. dave May 19, 2016 at 11:30 pm

Bajans just waiting on Fondle Stroke and his band of nitwits. Come election time Dems going get lash so hard it is left to be seen how many seats they going get if any.
The BLP has always have to rescue Barbados from the depths of despair that the DLP dumps Barbados and will have to do so again. The march was called at last minute and still attracted a crowd . ALL YOU who want to refer to the numbers and see this as a rejection of the BLP are fooling unna self.
