First stop: Briar Hall
It’s the first official event on the Crop Over 2016 calendar and it promises to be big.
The National Cultural Foundation (NCF) has assembled an impressive line up of some of the biggest and best soca artistes on the island, as it prepares to kick off the highly anticipated season at the Briar Hall playing field in Christ Church.
Friday’s “Mega Cavalcade” is being sponsored by Flow and Hott 95.3 FM.
In recognition of this island’s golden jubilee year, it is themed 50 Years of All Ah We and will feature soca stars Biggie Irie, Red Plastic Bag, Mikey, Don Trent, Damian Marvay, Leadpipe and Saddis, King Bubba, Statement, Stiffy, Hypasounds, Mistah Dale, Lil Rick, along with the 2015 Soca Royale kings Edwin Yearwood and Peter Ram.
The artistes will be backed by The Legend Band, featuring Joaquin, the Energy Band with Kirk Brown, Imani and Sanctuary.
The event promises to be an exciting one, following the preview of talent which was on show last Friday night during the launch at Oistins Bay Gardens, where fans were given a taste of the music that’s in store this Crop Over season.
