Managing director of Chefette, Ryan Haloute, told Barbados TODAY he was pleased with the growth of the event, which will this year provide funds for Variety The Children’s Charity, The Young Women Christian Association and the Precious Touch Foundation.

“We had close to . . . 5,000 walkers and runners today . . . We are very happy with the turnout. The good thing is that we had people from all walks of life here today. It was a real fun event, just really hot; but everybody had a good time.”

Haloute added that Chefette was pleased to be associated with the event, which was conceptualized by the late Dame Olga Lopes-Seale to raise funds for the Needy Children’s Fund.

“We feel very honoured just to be mentioned with her name, because she has done so much for this country and other parts of the world!
So just to be able to help this part of her legacy, we feel very proud.”
