Murder accused acquitted

A 29-year-old Christ Church man on trial for allegedly murdering another male almost five years ago, was declared not guilty yesterday.

The case against Reco Omar ‘Frost’ Grimes, who was accused of murdering Kerry Bailey on July 10, 2011, was heard for the past week in the Number 5 Supreme Court.

Bailey was shot while at a fete at Town Man Disco in St George, and later died at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Grimes, a plumber, resides at Maxwell Hill, Christ Church.

Justice Jacqueline Cornelius presided over the matter in which attorneys Andrew Pilgrim QC and Lesley Cargill represented the accused.

Principal Crown Counsel Anthony Blackman acted on behalf of the Crown.
