Two face separate charges of assault

COURT TODAY BLOCKA man and a woman were granted bail in separate matters when they went before the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court earlier today.

Shaneka Crystal Kyesha Nicholls, of Rose Hill, Kendal Hill, Christ Church, denied assaulting two women – Renita Blackett and Nikisha Small – on April 9 with intent to maim, disfigure or disable them or cause them serious bodily harm.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick granted Nicholls $5,000 bail. She is to reappear in court on July 18.

In the other matter, Kemar Rommel Babb was granted $3,000 bail and ordered to stay away from the complainant, Rahkeil Harris, by the same magistrate.

“Sir, she would have to stay away from me,” Babb replied.

The 27-year-old accused, who resides at 1st Avenue Holders Land, Brandons, St Michael, pleaded not guilty to assaulting Harris on April 3 and using threatening words to her on the same date.

The words he allegedly used were: “Rahkeil, I ****ing hate you; I going ****ing kill you.”

Babb’s matter was adjourned until July 14.
