Unemployed man facing 15 charges

COURT TODAY BLOCKJamal Orlando Worrell could very well be described as a small arms dealer.

The 30-year-old from School Lane, Halls Road, St Michael was not required to plead to the charges of being in possession of seven guns, along with cannabis and cocaine when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today.

In total, Magistrate Douglas Frederick read 15 charges to the unemployed man as he stood in the dock with a solemn look on his face.

Worrell is charged with being in possession of one Browning 9mm, a Star 9mm, two Rossi .38 specials, an Olin 12 gauge signal flare launcher, a Smith and Weston .40 calibre and a Browning .32 pistol, all without a valid licence.

He is also charged with possession of cannabis, trafficking and intent to supply and possession of cocaine, trafficking and intent to supply.

Magistrate Douglas Frederick remanded him to HMP Dodds until May 4.

From you own account this man is not unemployed. He is a vendor. People keep saying these guys don’t want to work. They DO work! They are not lazy. If we continue to act on false premises we will never solve the problem

He would have been better served with a copy of Allsop’s Caribbean Dictionary and a Nelson Reader.

My theory is that these were all stolen guns that drug addicts use as barter to buy drugs from a dealer.
