Man accused of assaulting his ex
If the complainant’s version of the story differs from his, Chris Clairmonte could be facing a harsher punishment.
Clairmonte, who resides at Howells Cross Road, St Michael confessed today that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend on March 11 and occasioned her actual bodily harm.
According to the police facts, the two had a dispute on the date and sometime during the altercation, Clairmonte cuffed the woman in her face and kicked her.
However, he told the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court today that they went back together after the incident and, “I just hit she wid my hand”.
Magistrate Douglas Frederick placed Clairmonte on a bond to keep the peace for six months; any breach of that bond will mean an equivalent time in jail for the unemployed man.
He was also granted $3,000 bail until April 15, when the complainant is to attend court.
