No surety for elderly man
Last month, Magistrate Douglas Frederick remanded Ronald Randolph DaCosta Lovell to the Psychiatric Hospital after he appeared unfit to plead to the March 10 offence of breaking into Lasonta Archer’s house and stealing $10 worth of items, while in possession of a knife.
On that occasion the elderly man was adamant that he was just 35-years-old.
The court had also heard from the prosecutor that during an interview, Lovell, who has no fixed address, had given police three different ages of 62, 65 and 75.
Today, when he returned to the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, Lovell pleaded not guilty and was offered bail.
However, after no surety arrived to sign on his behalf, he was remanded to HMP Dodds until April 8.
