Three men granted bail

COURT TODAY BLOCKA 55-year-old man who pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault and occasioning actual bodily harm has been granted bail in the amount of $4,000.

However, Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant has ordered the accused, Ricardo Ian Fields of  #394 Independence Drive, Husbands, St James, to “keep away from Mr Oneal Maynard”.

The charge stems from an October 22, 2015 incident.

Fields is due to return to court on June 2.

Yesterday, 29-year-old Komo Christopher Small also appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court where he denied stealing two cell phones, valued at $800, from Bizz Cell Limited on March 16.

Small, a resident of Block 1D North Close, Wildey, St Michael was granted bail in the amount of $2.000 and is due to return to court on May 26.

A third man was also released on bail for a separate offence.

He is 26-year-old Nhyan O’Brian Brewster, of Amity Lodge, Christ Church. The unemployed man was arrested and charged on Saturday.

However, when he appeared in court yesterday, Brewster was granted $2,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to possession of cannabis, as well as assaulting and resisting constable Rashid Edwards in the execution of his duties.

His matter was adjourned until June 2.
