Woman found sleeping on patio

COURT TODAY BLOCKAn unemployed woman who pleaded guilty today to having drug-related apparatus on March 17, was remanded to HMP Dodds until April 14 for sentencing.

Keisha Melissa Clarke, 28, of Military Road, Bush Hall, St Michael, appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court before Magistrate Douglas Frederick.

The court heard that police who were on patrol saw Clarke asleep in a patio. They went to her and inquired what she was doing there.  She replied: “Just getting a little sleep.”

Police then requested a search of a teddy-bear shaped bag which Clarke had with her. The search was granted and inside they found a pipe with mesh at one end and the other end burnt.

Clarke told the officers she intended to use it with cocaine.
