Rape accused granted bail

COURT TODAY BLOCKAn electrical apprentice was placed on $5,000 bail today after appearing before the court on a rape charge.

Jevon Renaldo Applewaite was not required to plead to the indictable charge which Magistrate Douglas Frederick read to him in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court.

Applewaite is charged with having sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent between May 1 and 31 last year.

The case against Applewaite, 27, of Valery Land, Collymore Rock, St Michael will come up again on June 15.

The accused was represented by attorney-at-law Damien Sands.
