Exciting start to RiRi’s Anti World Tour

Barbadian songstress Rihanna is proving time after time she can still talk that talk and walk that walk. She kicked off her Anti World Tour in Jacksonville, Florida, just last Saturday.

According to The Florida Times-Union, the sold out event at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena went off without a hitch, and it was full of unexpected surprises for her dedicated fans. RiRi’s stage show came equipped with
a giant video screen, a flying bridge and an army, rather a navy, of acrobatic backup dancers.

Rihanna opened the show by walking out on a small stage wearing only a hooded robe to the sombre piano intro to Stay. By the time she had made her way to the main stage, she had taken off her robe and had been joined by four female dancers for a seductive rendition of Birthday Cake.

During her two-hour show, the Bajan beauty performed several of her chart topping hits, including UmbrellaWe Found LoveDiamondsBitch Better Have My MoneyFourFiveSeconds and others. But most of Rihanna’s fans wanted to see her sing
tunes from her latest effort Anti; and she obliged them.

In fact, she almost performed every song on the album, including her smash hit WorkKiss It BetterWoo and Love On The Brain.

Not only was her performance exciting, but Rihanna’s half-dozen outfit changes were dazzling as well. The 28-year-old singer’s costumes consist of hooded robes, thigh-high boots, a see-through, black, hooded négligée, a tan-coloured suit, and more.

Overall, Rihanna’s tour opener was a complete success. Afterwards, she thanked the Jacksonville fans.

“Thank you guys so much for your support,” she told the roaring crowd. “I cannot thank you enough. It feels good. Cause y’all spending money. So y’all ain’t doing that . . . unnecessarily. Y’all really have to love some . . . . “So thank you. I appreciate that. It means a lot.”

All the talk that Wendy Williams have for this daughter on our own soil, Rihanna is proving her naysayers (including the die-hard Beyonce fans) wrong constantly.

You know…it is possible to prefer Bwyonce’s music, without hating Rihanna….

Rihanna is teaching them all how to really work that body. You can see her BAJAN influence in most of the Black Americans new moves.
So sad that the lot of you put the “pressure ” on ALLISON HINDS from making those “big bucks” even though she told you all “I am an entertainer”.
In show biz you have to be able to sing and shake that body.

Good luck to Rihanna, and I am glad this young lady has made it internationally, but most of what she sing is made for the garbage.

Everything she does turns to gold, eight albums and still going strong. She deserves a lot more support from her fellow countrymen. What ever she does, she never forgets Barbados. This is what we should be focussing on. Not all her songs are great, but respect is due as an artist and entertainer. She is young and is definitely having the time of her life. Good luck to her!

My wife and I attended Rihanna’s ANTI tour in Tampa on Sunday March 13th.
We left the concert two proud Bajans, proud of our ‘sister’ and in my case a product of my Alma mater Combermere.
I posted a video taken with my Galaxy on the “Bajans For Rihanna “FB PAGE.
    The concert was GREAT.
