Exciting start to RiRi’s Anti World Tour
Barbadian songstress Rihanna is proving time after time she can still talk that talk and walk that walk. She kicked off her Anti World Tour in Jacksonville, Florida, just last Saturday.
According to The Florida Times-Union, the sold out event at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena went off without a hitch, and it was full of unexpected surprises for her dedicated fans. RiRi’s stage show came equipped with
a giant video screen, a flying bridge and an army, rather a navy, of acrobatic backup dancers.
Rihanna opened the show by walking out on a small stage wearing only a hooded robe to the sombre piano intro to Stay. By the time she had made her way to the main stage, she had taken off her robe and had been joined by four female dancers for a seductive rendition of Birthday Cake.
During her two-hour show, the Bajan beauty performed several of her chart topping hits, including Umbrella, We Found Love, Diamonds, Bitch Better Have My Money, FourFiveSeconds and others. But most of Rihanna’s fans wanted to see her sing
tunes from her latest effort Anti; and she obliged them.
In fact, she almost performed every song on the album, including her smash hit Work, Kiss It Better, Woo and Love On The Brain.
Not only was her performance exciting, but Rihanna’s half-dozen outfit changes were dazzling as well. The 28-year-old singer’s costumes consist of hooded robes, thigh-high boots, a see-through, black, hooded négligée, a tan-coloured suit, and more.
Overall, Rihanna’s tour opener was a complete success. Afterwards, she thanked the Jacksonville fans.
“Thank you guys so much for your support,” she told the roaring crowd. “I cannot thank you enough. It feels good. Cause y’all spending money. So y’all ain’t doing that . . . unnecessarily. Y’all really have to love some . . . . “So thank you. I appreciate that. It means a lot.”
