Alexandra beat Combermere in football

Quiro Gill proved to be the home hero when he scored the lone goal of the game against Combermere School this afternoon at the Speightstown, St Peter ground in the Brewster’s Trust-sponsored Schools Football League.

It was a goalless first half that eventuated after the two sides had contested the 35-minutes per half encounter. But in the 60th minute, Gill slotted one into the back of the nets for the home side. Combermere give it their best shot but could not find the equalizer to deny Alexandra their 1-0 win. 

That win does not make much of a difference to Combermere, though, other than stung pride.  They have already secured a place in the quarterfinal round scheduled for tomorrow at 3:30pm at Waterford against Frederick Smith Secondary.
