Elderly man sent to Mental

COURT TODAY BLOCKAn elderly man who told the court that he was 35-years-old was remanded to the Psychiatric Hospital this afternoon.

Ronald Randolph Dacosta Lovell of no-fixed-place-of-abode was handed down the sentence by Magistrate Douglas Frederick when he appeared in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court today.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charge of entering the house of Lasonta Archer on March 10, 2016 as a trespasser and stealing items valued $10, while armed with a knife.

When questioned by police, Lovell gave them three separate ages; 62, 65 and 75. However, as he stood in the dock, he shouted to the magistrate that he was 35-years-old.

Prosecutor Station Sergeant Neville Watson told the court that Lovell had not been attending the mental institution as directed and neither had he been taking his medication.

He returns to court on April 1.
