Painter steals slippers and bag on beach

COURT TODAY BLOCKA 29-year-old painter admitted stealing a bag and its contents belonging to Zario Mapp, along with Nicoli Ifill’s slippers, while the complainants were in the sea on February 14.

Oneil Recardo Riley, of Jessamine Avenue, Bayville, St Michael, pleaded guilty to the offences when he appeared before Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant on Wednesday in the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court.

Around 1 p.m. on that date, a group of friends were at Pebbles Beach when Riley approached and began chatting with them, since he knew a couple of the persons.

They left their belongings under a tree and went into the water, Sergeant Janice Ifill told the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court, but by the time they returned, Riley and their property were gone.

Riley was remanded to HMP Dodds until March 23 when he will be sentenced.
