Four on kidnapping charge granted bail

COURT TODAY BLOCKFour St Michael men who appeared in court jointly charged with kidnapping a man and assaulting him on September 9, 2014, will return to court on May 23.

Julian Wayne Nowell, 32, of Yearwood Road, Black Rock, Daron Jason Bellamy, 25, of Capri Drive, Grazettes, Dominique Alexander King, 22, from Belfield, Black Rock and Aynsley McAuliffe Johnson, 29, of Applegrove, Black Rock are all accused of unlawfully removing Shane Riley from Tamarind Road, Wavell Avenue, Black Rock without his consent.

The quartet is also charged with assaulting Riley on the same date and occasioning him actual bodily harm. The accused were not required to plead to either charge which Magistrate Douglas Frederick read to them today.

There was no objection to bail and as such, the men will remain on $5,000 bail until the matter comes up again in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on May 23.

The accused are being represented by attorneys-at-law Dr Waldo Waldron-Ramsay QC and Leslie Roberts.
