Quick action by brave civilians and soldiers foiled an attack against two visitors at Brownes beach, Bay Street today.

The young culprit, Jeremy Weekes, 21, grabbed the coupleā€™s bag and attempted to get away, but he was stopped in his tracks and detained until police arrived at the scene. He has been charged with theft and will appear in court tomorrow morning.

I hope not.. that means thieves now would kill anybody who could identify them or could prevent them from escaping since the consequences for murder would be the same as for thiefing… so instead of risking getting caught, he would eliminate any threat to him because then he would have more to gain by killing (potential freedom) than allowing himself to get caught even if that charge now includes murder… just sayin’

In the cell phone world , i just don’t understand why bajans , don’t use they cell phones to help capture , any kind of evidence at all ,which would help law enforcement. although he was caught, what would have happen if he had got away, and no evidence . all I am hoping is bajans just use those cameras on your cell phones…it makes a lot of difference..
    Well done , people all..

De crooked police n members of parliament n child
molesters want life in jail!!! He is young as some of u all stated..
    u all were Young Too n did shit u shouldn’t have. .
so don’t be so quick to judge.. bet more than half of u judgmental ones go to church n call urself Christians!! I look at situations from all angles.. everything is to be balanced in life!! There is good in bad n bad in good. . This might be a bad situation here for the youngster.. but it might me also some good in it. Getting caught n jailed might actually be preserving him from some deeper shit he might have gotten himself in later down the road that might have resulted in his death or some else!!! What is to be will always be!!!

Thank You young men. I visit several times a year and enjoy your island because My wife and I feel SAFE. I enjoy the kindness of the prople on your island. My wife spends lots of money too. I enjoy your best hotel too. If the island gets like the Uninted States, I’ll stop comming and bringing money. I’ll tell many others and they’ll stop visiting too. Again THANKS to the young men. Don’t let fools and theives ruin Barbados. Those who would do nothing…Get your head out the sand. You’re part of the problem!
